Zero civic sense
While I was at a photocopy shop in Butwal, Belbash Chowk, I saw local residents come together to clean the area, which initially made me feel happy as people collected garbage from different corners and even took photos of their collective effort; however, after the cleanup, all the waste was gathered and burned, and thick smoke spread across the entire neighborhood, turning a positive act into a harmful one.
This incident made me question whether people are fully aware of air pollution and its serious health impacts, and why there is still a lack of concern when smoke directly affects the same community.
It clearly showed me that although people may be willing to keep their surroundings clean, there is still a strong need for awareness about proper waste management and the harmful consequences of burning garbage, because true cleanliness is not only about collecting waste but also about disposing of it in an environmentally safe way.
