“How an evening looks like in Koteshwor, where the city never slows down, but the air grows heavier with every passing vehicle.”
Rush Hour, Breathless City
I captured this image during an evening at Koteshwor, a place I cross often and rarely stop to notice.
The fading sunlight barely passed through the layer of dust and smoke hanging above the highway.
Standing there, I realized how normal this scene has become for people living in Kathmandu.
We continue our daily routines, commuting, working, rushing home, while silently breathing polluted air every single day.
What struck me most was how ordinary it all seemed.
Nobody stopped, nobody questioned the haze surrounding us, because for many of us, this has become part of everyday life.
This photo reminds me that air pollution is not just an environmental issue discussed in reports or headlines; it is something we experience personally in the roads we travel, the air we inhale, and the lives we live.
Behind the movement and noise of the city, there is also an invisible burden that people carry each day without even realizing its long-term impact!

Who pays for this
"The smoky dewy Kathmandu valley is no better than a bar or club full of cigars and smike"
Since I have been living in the valley, I always feel like I'm living in a room filled with smoke and an unpleasant smell. I just feel like I could never breathe any fresh air if I
