How long must we breathe dust!

Kathmandu, Kathmandu ValleyJul 2026

Never-Ending Roads

Every day, hundreds of people in Kathmandu step outside hoping for a peaceful journey, only to be met with dust, traffic, and roads that seem to remain under construction forever.

What should be a simple travel has become a daily struggle. The heat of the sun is already difficult enough, but the constant cloud of dust and vehicle smoke makes every breath feel heavier.

Walking along these roads often means inhaling polluted air, leaving many people with irritated eyes, coughing, and breathing difficulties.

For children, older adults, and those with respiratory illnesses, the situation is even more dangerous. Road development is necessary, but projects that drag on for years come at a cost.

Residents continue to pay taxes, yet many are left wondering why essential infrastructure takes so long to complete and why proper dust control and traffic management are often missing. Kathmandu deserves better than endless construction sites that have become a permanent part of daily life.

Development should improve people's lives, not make them harder.

Until these roads are completed responsibly and on time, the people of the valley will continue to pay the price and not just with their time, but with their health.
