Vultures: the silent contributers to "safa hawa"

Rupandehi, Lumbini ProvinceJul 2026

Nature's silent cleanup crew

I went to Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality in Rupandehi for some important work.

On the way, near the Danav River bridge, there was a dead animal, and the smell was so bad that it was hard to breathe while passing by.

It polluted the surrounding environment.

Coincidentally, when I returned through the same route, I saw a group of vultures feeding on the carcass.

It had been many years since I had seen vultures in real life.

As a child, I learned from National Geographic that vultures help keep nature clean by eating dead animals, preventing the spread of diseases, and maintaining ecological balance.

The strong acid in their stomachs makes them one of nature's silent heroes, playing a vital role in keeping the environment clean and healthy.
